For many of his young years it seems Sung Bong Choi had no idea how to find his true place in the world. Then, one day, quite unexpectedly he had a vision of himself singing on stage. Having found this, his self-belief was fired to pursue his passion to become a vocalist.  Not knowing where to go for help, how many years or how much work would be in front of him he begin in small ways to fulfill this dream.

When the chance came to sing on Korea’s Got Talent, he overcame doubt and fear and unpretentiously presented himself to the audience with disarming humility and honesty. By taking this courageous step he reached into a whole new world of possibilities as well as a host of new challenges.

The poignant quality of his voice, infused with years of raw experience and suppressed passion, gives hope, strength and encouragement. Everything about him touches a deep level. His innocence, unselfconsciousness and amazing talent seems to stir the soul. He pulls at the magnificence we suspect is possible, but not yet realized in ourselves, others and everything else as well.  But when this is right in front of us, our belief in miracles really does come true. The seemingly impossible is made possible! Is this miracle the manifestation of the soul’s desire to find expression and thereby inspire greater things, greater love, greater desire for pure greatness?

Because we recognize his pain and glory, his story may resonate with us at various stages of our own journey of discovery. Perceiving that self-belief is driven by core strength, we experience how this can be so compromised or even broken by difficult life experiences. It is self-belief that gives us the ability to withstand years of  struggle in the hope of making our own miracle of healing come true and returning to our soul’s passion and centre of creativity.

Thank goodness there are so many effective healing modalities, inspiring writings and teachers to awaken us and help us along the way. Screams

 One day teacher asks his disciples, ‘Why do people scream when they quarrel?’

‘Because they lose inner peace,’ replied one disciple.

 ’But why scream, if the other person is next to you?’ Teacher asked. ‘Is it not possible to speak to him in a soft voice? Why scream, if you are angered?’

 Disciples offered many answers, none of which satisfied the Teacher. In the end Teacher explained:

‘When people are upset with each other and quarrel, their hearts distance from each other. In order to cover this distance and hear each other, they have to scream. The more angered they become, the bigger the distance between them and, consequently, the louder they have to yell.’

 ’And what happens to people who are in love? They don’t scream.To the contrary, they speak softly. That is because their hearts are close to each other, and the distance between them is short. And what happens as their love strengthens? They don’t speak, they whisper and become even closer in their love. In the end, even whispering becomes unneccessary. They look at each other and understand everything without words.’
